How have your political views changed over time?
I started out being a Democrat when I came of age in 1972. Later during my Air Force career I changed to being a Reagan Republican. I became a Nonpartisan in 1988 when some California politicians said that the new electronic voting machines could be hacked to change the election results (IMPOSSIBLE BACK THEN). I was so disgusted I became Nonpartisan and stopped being a precinct officer for all elections (local, state, and federal).
Glad I did because now that Donald John Trump is president again, he goes after anyone who disagrees with him on anything.
I hate to say it but it is now dangerous for ‘Blue States’ because MAGA Party members watch all elections at the polling places, harass Blue State voters, Registrar of Voters staff, and sometimes, stand outside of Registrar of Voters staff homes watching, protesting, shouting, even in the middle of the night.
It’s a very scary and sad situation today. I pray every day when I say the Anglican Divine Liturgy (I’m an Archbishop) that our Lord watch over our nation and make any and all efforts to nullify as much as possible what is going on in our nation and to our people, especially the targets of people of color.
