What’s your favorite time of day?
My favorite time of day is midnight to 2am. I love being on the internet with my laptop because there are never Annoying phone calls late at night, no one will knock on your front door, no solicitors, internet downloads will be faster but the internet traffic (number of people online) are higher in the daytime and the number of people online, past midnight, is much, much lower.
When computers for the masses (men, women, kids, and later, businesses, the first modems could transmit or receive at 300 baud (which was VERY SLOW. Trying to do just one task might take you all day long to transmit or receive, one task. Today, we are used to fast uploading and fast downloading of multiple tasks per day.
The younger generation of young people know little to none of the history and agony of the beginning of the modern computer/internet era.
I started working with computers that would take up most of a work desktop available space. Many of the so-called Baby Boom Generation adults had the opportunity, or migraine headache, to conceive, design, manufacture, and write new computer languages (Basic was one of the first languages created to help a user write simple programs for the new computers. I didn’t have to write any of the new computer languages, but I did learn how to create websites for endusers to navigate and work in cyberspace. Now, at 73 years of age, things have developed rapidly in ways many of my generation never conceived or dreamed that cellphones would become a familiar, popular, and even needed, in order to get things done. I own an iPhone and carry it with me 24/7. Doctor and dental information on calendar and contact lists, emergency cellphone numbers, upcoming anniversaries, birthdays, weddings and more, many more ways of using a cellphone. And the best, or worst capability is the CAMERA feature. People in upscale hotels, restaurants and other places will take photographs of their meal before eating it, use the cellphone to talk with someone at the movies, shopping centers, and places of worship!
Is it me, or are things getting out of hand? Ttyl. 😎🙏☦️
